1. Kwarteng digs in as rumours of budget U-turn abound
Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng yesterday insisted he was “not going anywhere”, as speculation over another number 10 budget U-turn mounted.
Kwarteng sidestepped questions about whether he and Liz Truss were planning to scrap significant sections of his so-called ‘mini-budget’, telling reporters in Washington “let’s see”.
