Not surprised at all. It just seems that it’s the done thing these days. But when you look at who’s in charge, can we ever be surprised? We should start from scratch and actually be able to choose people who have a clue what life is like in the real world!
Not shocked in the slightest. I am not sure what else to say really other than perhaps we need to continue to focus on healing and organising within our communities, making changes on a personal, and local level, and stop expecting this lot to change. The system was made for this fuckery.
I think you’re really right. And fuckery is the perfect word!
But while that’s absolutely what we NEED to do, and probably the only thing that will actually affect change, there’s also a bit of me thats just screaming internally about the unfairness of it all. I mean, this stuff ended Bill Clinton’s career, it would end all of our careers, and we’re being told when it’s this government it doesn’t matter. Have standards really slipped that dramatically?! Xx
Oh absolutely, I have been screaming inside since I experienced sexual violence multiple times, and sometimes its impossible to quell the rage I feel about whats going on. Whats happening here is like eons of white male privilege, violence and entitlement remaining seemingly untouchable within a parliament that was built on this stuff. Its disgusting.
Absolutely brilliant article. It’s a shocking state of affairs and the fact so many people think it’s acceptable leaves me baffled every day. I often feel we’re too passive as a society but I guess it’s about choosing which of all the injustices and world to put our energy and resources into. Thank you for keeping a spark of activism alive within me every week.

God, wouldn’t that be nice? 🤦🏻♀️

I’m so sorry you experienced that, and I couldn’t agree more xx
